New giant pump for mining

GIW Industries, Inc., a subsidiary of the KSB Group, specialised within the manufacturing of mining pumps, has launched a heavy-duty pump referred to as MDX-850 on the market.
The specialists from Grovetown in Georgia, USA, have developed this sort series particularly for the acute situations encountered in hard rock mining in mill circuits. The new MDX-850 raises the bar of the production degree while maintaining the general operating costs, i.e. the whole price of possession, down. The impeller diameter measures 2,600 mm (102″), exceeding that of the previously largest MDX pump by 250 mm (10″).
The design features of MDX-850 include a variety of enhancements that have been made to the MDX sort sequence over the previous couple of years. The pump width, as an example, has been enlarged to allow for improved diverter design. The impeller, too, has been strengthened in areas vulnerable to wear. Thicker impeller vanes, solid from Gasite 28G and Endurasite, enhance wear resistance and prolong the life cycle of the pumps. MDX- pressure gauge octa is characterised by its enhanced interface between suction liner and suction plate, enabling the use of an innovatively designed put on ring on the pump inlet.
Like pressure gauge , size 850 comes with an adjustable suction liner to permit adjustments of the clearance between the impeller nostril and suction liner from the suction side of the pump even when the pump is operating. The MDX-850 design is suitable with the GIW RAMSL (Remotely Adjusted Mechanical Suction Liner) know-how improve that makes adjustment of the clearance between the impeller nostril and suction liner fast and precise.
