A leading Kenyan warehouse and logistics service provider Cold Solutions, says it’ll invest USD 70 million to construct the biggest cold chain facility in East Africa to deal with challenges that face transportation of perishable items.
Cold Solution’s 15,000 sqm flagship facility in Tatu City Special Economic Zone in Nairobi will be the largest, most superior and environment friendly in the region. The chilly chain facility is flexibly designed to cater for quite a few temperature ranges from +26 to -40 C and a quantity of product ranges, from recent fruit and vegetables, to prescribed drugs and vaccines, meats and poultry, and frozen foods.
Cold Solutions Kenya is a portfolio firm of ARCH Cold Chain Solutions East Africa Fund, a private equity fund advised by ARCH Emerging Markets Partners Limited (ARCH).
