Amarinth offers API 610 pumps for the West Qurna-2 enlargement project in Iraq

Amarinth has delivered two separate orders of API 610 pumps, together price £1.2 million, for the West Qurna-2 expansion challenge in Iraq.

West Qurna-2, located roughly 65 km north-west of the seaport town of Basra, is certainly one of the world’s largest onshore oilfields. The growth project is expected to increase the oilfield’s production capability from the current four hundred,000 barrels oil per day (bpd) to 480,000 bpd, with a goal to attain a complete production capability of 800,000 bpd by 2025.
The first order, from Cannon Artes, was for seven tremendous duplex API 610 OH1 pumps. Plan 53B seal support methods were designed to fit inside a constrained footprint and as the pumps were destined for an ATEX Zone 2 space, the motors, seal assist systems, and instrumentation had been IECEx certified. Witness testing and inspection was undertaken by Bureau Veritas and a full legalised Iraq documentation bundle was delivered with the pumps. Delivery was achieved on a short 38-weeks, despite the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic.
